As the UI Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the overall user experience. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and front-end developers to translate concepts into intuitive and elegant designs. Our teams are a mix of technologists, product managers, software engineers, QA Engineers, UI/UX designers, TechOps, and DevOps, all working together to deliver our vision.

Responsibilities

  • Work largely asynchronously with a design manager and the globally distributed cross-functional product team

  • Visual Design: Create cohesive user interface designs that align with the application's goals & brand guidelines. A strong understanding of typography and grid systems is essential.

  • Quality Assurance: Review and validate the implementation of UI designs in the final product, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise during development.  Attention to detail and the ability to communicate and advocate for developed pages to match designs are critical.

  • Design Handoff: Collaborate with developers to ensure a smooth design handoff process, providing them with necessary assets, specifications, and guidance.

  • Collaboration: Communicate with cross-functional teams, including Product Designers, Managers, developers, and QA engineers, to ensure design specifications are well understood and implemented correctly.

  • Time Management: Manage multiple design tasks and deadlines efficiently, prioritizing work to meet project milestones.

  • Feedback Incorporation: Gather feedback from stakeholders, users, and team members and incorporate relevant suggestions and improvements into the UI design.

  • Adaptability: Be adaptable and open to feedback and changes in design direction as the project progresses and requirements evolve.

  • Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes or wireframes to demonstrate the functionality and flow of the user interface, allowing for user testing and feedback before final implementation.

  • Version Control: Use design collaboration tools or version control systems to manage design files, track changes, and facilitate collaboration among team members.

  • Responsive Design: Ensure that UI designs are responsive and adapt seamlessly to various devices and screen sizes, including desktop, mobile, and tablets.

  • Accessibility: Prioritize accessibility by designing and implementing UI elements that meet WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards, ensuring the application is usable by individuals with disabilities.

  • File Organization: Maintain organized design files and assets, making it easy for team members to locate and reference design elements as needed.

  • Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure that UI designs are compatible with different web browsers and platforms, addressing any compatibility issues that may arise.

  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging design tools to improve the quality of UI designs continuously.

  • Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience, including designing business-oriented web applications that leverage emerging technologies.

  • Solid UI design skills and an English portfolio or samples illustrating your UI work.

  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of front-end technologies. Working knowledge of CSS and HTML is essential. Coding/scripting will not be your responsibility, but the ability to communicate and collaborate with front-end developers is critical to the role.

  • Very strong Figma skills, including advanced component building and familiarity with variables.

  • Knowledge of design systems.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
