Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

As the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be accountable for establishing and administering the quality policies of INNIO Waukesha Gas Engines Inc. to keep quality performance from our suppliers at expected levels.  Lead SQE will maintain relationships with suppliers, resolving quality issues, approving new suppliers and components. They will lead effort to drive improvements and control cost of quality directly with the suppliers. 
 
In this position, you will be responsible for
  • Managing supply base focused on fabrications and miscellaneous machined engine components.
  • Administering and Processing of first piece qualifications.
  • Responsible for resolution of quality matters, corrective actions, requests for deviations, reject notifications, and continuous improvement and reporting for suppliers. 
  • Collaborate with Global Sourcing Specialists, Buyers, and Engineers to achieve quality and cost goals. 
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
  • Participate on teams such as NPI, Tiger, or other teams as requested.
  • Travel as required to perform job duties 30-40% including global.
  • Contributing to IINNIO Waukesha Continuous Improvement Process set (e.g.: CI projects, participate in  RCA’s, Q-Cases, etc.)
Position Requirements:
  • Technical Degree, preferably in engineering, from an accredited university or college or equivalent, directly related experience and a minimum of 3 years job-related experience in the quality field.
  • Previous experience in working with industrial environment is preferred.
  • Ability to drive change in a challenging business environment
  • Strong analytical, commercial acumen, and contractual awareness 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and warehousing operations/processes 
  • Experience with quality management system(s) desired 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customer, peers, team members
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and to work in cross-functional and cross-regional teams throughout the business.
  • Demonstrated solid communicator - written and oral
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point software
  • Knowledge of business finance.
