The Revenue Accounting - Lead will be responsible for a) Accounting and analysis of contract acquisition costs; b) Evaluation and accounting of non-standard revenue arrangements; c) Driving process changes and improvements across the revenue accounting org.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the employee sales commissions team and the partner commissions team and drive a center of excellence for the accounting and analysis of customer acquisition costs.
Take ownership over the accounting of non-standard revenue arrangements- Internal and external marketplace revenues, sale of third party products etc..
Partnering with multiple stakeholders such as billings, collections, IT Bizapps, IT Analytics etc to implement process improvements across reporting areas.
Support with ad hoc requests, special projects and provide direct support to the management team.
Collaborate with the Internal Audit team to establish and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
Qualifications
CA/Similar professional qualification/MBA
Work experience of 4+ years; preferably with a background in SOX/ICFR control frameworks.
Experience in financial operations, audit and accounting are a bonus.
Understanding of revenue recognition principles, related accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and non GAAP financial metrics particularly in the software and SaaS industry
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, analyze complex data, and provide practical recommendations.
Strong communication skills required, both written and verbal.
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple changing priorities along with day-to-day responsibilities.
