Job Description
Global Data Platforms Organization is focused on delivering differentiated data product offerings which provide tremendous value to our clients leveraging cutting-edge capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). At Visa, we are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Director – AI/ML Platform, to join our team. As a global leader in payments technology, Visa has been a pioneer in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies successfully in our products and services in the last few decades. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and enhancing core AI/ML capabilities to power one of our key strategic pillars - Value Added Services portfolio of products.

This role will be a key contributor to the global strategic roadmap specifically around creating a state-of-the-art AI platform by working with cross functional teams such as regional product, sales, consulting, operations, technology, risk, and analytics. This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations.
As an experienced product leader, the person will work closely with Technology, Data Science, cross-functional products, and regional teams to prioritize, solve, develop, and implement key platform features and power key flagship Visa products. This will report to Sr. Director, AIML Platform Product Management.
Essential Functions
• This position will be a key member of the AIML Platform Product team responsible for AIaS (AI as services) portfolio, powered by AI/ML Platform including both traditional and GenAI capabilities.
• Drive the development of AI/ML platform to support value added services portfolios, aligning with the broader organizational strategies and goals.
• Play an instrumental role in the A2A (Account to Account) portfolio of products by providing overall strategy, design, execution and launch of model products.
• Platform Strategy & Roadmap: Identify trends, competitive landscape, market, and client needs to shape product roadmap and align strategic goals.
• Build and own platform roadmap, product positioning, market differentiation, value proposition and benefits in ways that resonate with key audiences, use-cases, and markets.
• Establish product requirements: Define comprehensive and precise product requirements for key features which meet client and market needs and work in conjunction with other Visa products and solutions.
• Lead grooming sessions: Drive collaboration and in-depth understanding on product and model requirements with cross-functional product, data science and technology teams.
• Define acceptance criteria for requirements, participating and leading the AI design and technology discussions.
• Define and monitor key platform success metrics, service level agreements and operational targets.
• Lead non-technical and functional elements critical to product success, such as model risk management, model onboarding experience and oversee the technical development of the platform, ensuring that communicated timelines and quality standards are met.
• Ideate, prototype, and collaborate with AI/ML teams in building the business case.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to finalize requirements and establish a clear path to delivery for various use cases.
• Adapt to changes in the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape, influencing the development of platform capabilities accordingly.
• Understand the needs of product partners and data scientists and translate them into an efficient, reliable platform for building, testing, and deploying AI and models.
• Identify significant opportunities for building applications on AI/ML platform, drive use case assessment, and support prioritization in alignment with broader organizational strategies and goals.
• Responsible for managing medium and large-sized projects or processes and providing guidance to other employees in the job area.
• Partner closely with technology to execute AI/ML capabilities and technologies that drive product delivery of high-profile Visa AI products.
• Conceptualize, develop, and launch new products and experiences at the intersection of payments and technology in the AI space.
• Liaise with other business units, product leaders, engineering, and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution.
• Develop and advocate a vision of outstanding customer experience powered by advanced AI technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
• Requirements Gathering: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.
• Product Requirements: Develop product requirements based on the product partners’ needs. This includes working closely with the engineering team to ensure the product is built to specification and meets the needs of our users.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, to keep them informed of the initiative’s progress and to gather their input.
• User Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of our users (data scientists) throughout the product development process. Ensure the final product meets their needs and enhances their ability to build, test, and deploy AI models.
• Market Analysis - Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, advancements in AI/ML, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to keep our product competitive, drive innovation and new product development.
• Product Vision and Strategy: Define the product vision and strategy for supporting partners’ portfolios and for developing applications for AIML Platform define the roadmaps, ensuring they align with the AIML Platform’s and company's overall AI/ML strategies.
• This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5% of the time.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or at least 13 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 6 years of work experience with a PhD
• Strong understanding of AI and Machine Learning concepts, with an
emphasis on AI models on batch and real-time environment.
• Data science, Deep learning models and experience with Big Data and broader
AI/ML tools, platforms and technologies
• Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and
experience working with Scrum teams and matrix organizations.
• Prior experience working within an agile product development environment.
• Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Project, and SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
15 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 13 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Modeling experience in card industry or financial service company using for
fraud, credit risk, payments is plus
• 4+ years of experience in developing and delivering Machine Learning and
Artificial Intelligence solutions at enterprise or organizational level to solve
customer or business problems.
• Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry
specifically, within new applications, Fraud Risk, Identity Risk, or Artificial
Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science.
• 6 years of experience in product management, with demonstrated ability to
launch and manage new product releases being part of a matrix organization
in a highly technical and evolving AI/ML space.
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of machine learning or data
processing algorithms for risk and fraud applications.
• Experience in financial services and payments desired, but not required.
• Experience partnering with technologists using Agile or other expedited
design and development methodologies. Working knowledge of Agile Planning and execution tool such as Confluence Wiki and JIRA, JIRA Align is strongly preferred.

ownership.
