About the team

Tide is seeking an exceptional Product Designer to join our team in the Business Services area. Business Services covers all financial administration products (expenses, invoicing, payroll, accounting and taxation) across all of the countries Tide operates in. The products in this area are at an exciting point in our journey as we have products in the market, and we are significantly increasing their reach and impact via investments in product development, product-led growth and internationalisation.

About the role

  • You'll be responsible for the Product Design of a business area (‘speedboat’) within the Tide platform; supporting the speedboat’s strategy by creating a cohesive, frictionless customer experience that works with other areas of the platform
  • You'll be working with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Engineers, Agile Coaches, UX Writers, User Researchers and other Product Designers
  • You’ll work in a fast-paced, delivery-driven organisation, where you must prove the value & impact of your design work to your peers and the speedboat lead
  • You will create design artefacts for discovery, research and journey mapping through to the execution of final high-fidelity designs
  • You'll seek a deep understanding of the needs of the members you're designing for; joining user research sessions, gleaning previous insights, digging into usage analytics, & framing your own research and analysis to build your understanding of what, why, and how of the problems you're solving for our customers
  • You’ll play a pivotal role in advocating for user needs with Product and Engineering teams; bringing them inside the Design process and demonstrating the value of a Design Thinking approach
  • You'll work to help make sure our long-term strategy, business goals, and experience quality are all aligned and that there are healthy opportunities for visibility and feedback
  • You’ll be working within - and adding to - the Tide Design System and Tide Design Principles

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a bright, talented  Lead Product Designer who is passionate about brilliant customer experiences, and knows how to make them happen. The impact and scope of this role are huge, and you’ll be a key contributor to our continued success as we shape the future of our financial platform for Small & Medium-sized Enterprises.

  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant commercial experience in a comparable UX Design or Product Design role, ideally with scale up / start up experience in a SaaS company
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • In-depth knowledge of User Experience and Product Design methodologies - including Design Thinking - across the full range of user-centred design activities
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Figma 
  • Led or played a key role in the design of world-class product design and launch in a fast-growing company before.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment
  • Experience of working in a scale-up environment and comfortable with ambiguity 
  • Being data-driven in your approach, with experience of using tools like Looker, Heap, GA, Hotjar or similar to inform your design.
