About The Role

The Community Product Design team is looking for a Contract Lead Product Designer with a social media background who’s excited to craft experiences that will engage users and foster a supportive, professional community. We need a contract teammate who knows how to marry function and fun, and who can offer creative, innovative solutions that fit into the long-term vision for the product. We’re seeking someone with a collaborative leadership mentality, who’s not afraid to dive in, take charge, and leverage their design expertise to craft best-in-class experiences. 

You will collaborate with designers, researchers, developers, and product managers to design user-focused surfaces and systems across web and app. This is a twelve month contract opportunity with a target start date of April 1, 2024. There may be opportunities for contract extension or conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business needs, but it cannot be guaranteed.

To succeed in this role, you should have a solid grasp of the social media space, UX process, system thinking, attention to detail, and a strong portfolio showcasing your customer-centric experiences across a range of touch-points. Familiarity with Figma is required. You should feel comfortable presenting your work, advocating for your choices, and explaining your thinking while maintaining an open mind.

What You'll Do

  • Responsibly and effectively advocate for the customer
  • Work with our product partners, cross-functional and external teams to define and build user-friendly products that consider functionality and technical limitations
  • Collaborate and communicate high-level design strategies to leadership within and outside of the team
  • Create Figma artifacts with excellent attention to detail and support for complex user flows
  • Run design planning for your lane, including managing a Jira board
  • Collaborate across lanes to ensure a consistent user experience across Glassdoor

What You'll Bring

  • A commitment to add  to our culture of DEI
  • A social media background is required for this role
  • 8+ years professional experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, product designer, or similar role
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating your expertise in crafting customer-centric experiences across a range of touch-points, as well as proficiency in UI and interaction design
  • Driven to understand how a system works and how specific problems influence or are influenced by the larger system
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate compassionately and inclusively with cross-functional partners (Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing)
  • Passion for user-centered design
  • Strong skills in Figma

Compensation 

Base Hourly Rate*: $70.00 - $80.00 

*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.
