Two Six Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and production of custom electronic assemblies supporting cutting edge cybersecurity missions. The selectee will be empowered to lead mechanical designs throughout the product life cycle, stand up new processes, and deliver novel electronic systems across the national security community. Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, and production of custom electronic assemblies meeting customer specifications and industry standards
- Define mechanical requirements and interfaces for printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and custom enclosures
- Produce, review and approve mechanical technical documentation including drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Conduct design reviews and coordinate with external partners to drive component procurement, fabrication, and assembly
- Design validation and characterization including prototype bring-up, debug, and product testing
- Lead and track project milestones within schedule and budgetary constraints
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Scientific Domain
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience including design, analysis, and manufacturing of electronic systems and assemblies
- In depth 3D CAD experience, Solidworks preferred
- Deep understanding of mechanical fabrication processes with the ability to determine the best method for a product design
- Proficient in DFx principles
- Experience with thermal and structural analysis considerations, methodologies, and tools
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact across management levels, development teams, and external vendors
- Ability to work on-site at our Arlington, VA headquarters
Nice to Have:
- Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Scientific Domain
- Experience with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100 engineering drawing standards
- Experience with environmental stress screening and MIL-STD-810
- Familiarity with FIPS 140-2 guidelines and certification processes
- Experience with additive manufacturing and 3D printing
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Clearance Requirements:
- Active US Security clearance of Secret level with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI
