The IT Electric Operations team at PG&E plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the company's electric infrastructure. Position Summary:
As a Senior Business Analyst within the IT Electric Operations team at PG&E, you will be instrumental in driving the success of medium to large complex IT Business Technology projects. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders and project teams to elicit, analyze, validate, and prioritize business needs and requirements. Leveraging your expertise in both business and technical domains, you will play a key role in defining project scope, conducting requirements analysis, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT solutions that meet PG&E's operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to elicit, analyze, and prioritize business needs and requirements.
- Conduct interviews and employ various methods to gather customer requirements effectively.
- Define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics by establishing scope and parameters of requirements analysis.
- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, and feasibility, ensuring conformity to standards.
- Participate in quality assurance of purchased solutions and assist in the selection of software solutions.
- Develop accurate and concise requirements specifications using standard templates.
- Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements comprehensible to developers.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide developers and project teams.
- Manage and enforce the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to stakeholders.
- Participate in testing efforts throughout the project lifecycle, including test script creation.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of related experience or equivalent.
- Experience with SAP Work and Asset Management focusing on Electric Distribution, Transmission, Substation.
- Power generation experience, particularly in hydroelectric or electric power is desired.
- Experience with SAP Field Service Management is desired.
- Proficiency in Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Proven experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, and methodology development.
- Experience with business IT applications and a strong understanding of utilities operations.
- Ability to lead and influence decision-making, working with senior management.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of prioritizing tasks under pressure.
- Strong customer service orientation and experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in MS Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and working knowledge of SQL.
- Utility background similar to PG&E.
