Lead Hardware Engineer

Seeking an Electrical Engineer who has a fundamental knowledge of digital design utilizing microprocessors, ASICs, FPGAs, and various memory technologies. Responsible for developing new architectures and refining existing architectures; developing requirements and technical interfaces with customers. Perform detailed review of other engineer's designs. Lead a design team from initial specification all the way through to delivery involving hardware board level design, FPGA design and implementation, simulation, analysis, and test. Lead design team through checkout and validation in a lab environment, work through full system integration and environmental testing.

  • Digital board design experience including thorough design documentation, completion and review of schematic, participation in SI analysis, creating and reviewing routing instructions, coordination with layout, review of layout, documented test plan and completed debug.
  • Ability to solve lab debug problems with use of lab tools such as bench supplies, scopes and logic analyzers.
  • Experience completing multiple module designs including at least one of moderate complexity is desired.
  • Work closely with Systems, Hardware, Mechanical and Software Engineers to ensure unit, module, FPGA, and software designs meet customer requirements.
  • Full life-cycle program support, from kick-off to oversight of Environmental Qualification and Acceptance testing including thermal cycle, thermal vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC.
  • Lead major reviews such as PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, etc.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • There can be limited local travel.
  • Extensive knowledge of circuit design and signal integrity is expected. 
  • Has led module debug and integration of module into system. 
  • Familiar with environmental test methods and flow. 
  • Understands and has performed worst case analysis.
  • Ability to effectively lead system integration and test of multiple digital board, FPGA designs, and system software.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to provide leadership and support to less experienced engineers on a program team.
  • Experience with digital and/or RF electronics design, schematic capture, FPGA design, embedded system design, single board computers, or embedded software design is desired.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Must have 10+ years of design experience.

Compensation: Base pay range is $130,000-$180,000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
