ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Lead Engineer.
The Lead Engineer is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems within a property. The duties may include the maintenance and operations of HVACR equipment and controls. Other systems may include chilled water systems, boilers, refrigeration systems and other mechanical or electrical building systems. The Engineer must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. An offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop work assignments and handle special tasks, including trouble calls.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of:
- HVAC systems and water treatment procedures.
- Electrical equipment, including motors, compressors, and power distribution systems.
- Boilers, heaters, pumps, and other mechanical equipment used for steam and water distribution.
- Refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, and valves.
- Air compressors and natural gas distribution systems.
- Water and sewage systems, including piping, valves, sinks, toilets, and sump pumps.
- Fuel oil systems, kitchen equipment, and trash compactors.
- Life safety and security systems.
- Manage building energy efficiency through seasonal recalibration and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain all building lighting, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Ensure the proper implementation and management of:
- Operational manuals and logs.
- Preventive maintenance and safety programs.
- Inventory control and equipment history records.
- Work order procedures and vendor relations.
- Building management communications.
- Stand scheduled shift watches and work with tools of the stationary engineer's trade.
- Train personnel on operating procedures and techniques.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in building operations and maintenance, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, including preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency management, seasonal system recalibration, and operational manuals/logs.
- Strong communication skills, with experience in vendor management and building communications.
- Proven leadership in training personnel on proper operating procedures, safety regulations, and technical skills.
- Appropriate Certifications and Licenses.
