About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Business Intelligence professional to join our team. As a Lead BI, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic business decisions and improve operational efficiencies. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our BI solutions while leading a team of BI developers and analysts. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL and data modeling, combined with strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL, with a focus on complex queries, performance optimization, Utilize advanced SQL techniques such as case statements, window functions, and joins to solve complex analytical problems
  • Design and maintain scalable data models that support business requirements and analytical initiatives. Deep understanding of Slowing changing dimensions, Data quality, data governance . Data modeling techniques like Kimball, data vault etc which can handle big data 
  • Hands on with Dashboarding tools like Metabse, superset, Tableau, powerbi
  •  Good to have - DBT, Airflow
  • Lead and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices.
  • Manage project timelines and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop and deliver insightful analytics and dashboards that drive actionable insights and support strategic deep-dive analysis into business metrics, trends, and performance drivers to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve BI processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in BI and data analytics, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of advanced SQL concepts such as window functions, complex joins, and performance tuning, data modeling, data governance and quality. 
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully leading technical teams and driving results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience 8-12 years  in a Lead BI role or similar capacity, with a strong background in SQL, data modeling, and analytics.
  • Experience with BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and proficiency in data visualization techniques.
