DESCRIPTION:
You will lead and support the design and execution of multiple projects. You will be a statistics expert in applied research activities, support methodologic research, advance the understanding of novel methods within the organization, and contribute to prioritizing and developing analytic platform features.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applied Scientific Research
- Leads and supports the implementation of multiple studies, such as real-world descriptive and comparative studies and studies involving re-analysis of clinical trial data, for biopharma and regulatory agencies as well as other customers
- Comfortable testing and implementing novel methodologies from statistical literature
- Maintains knowledge base in pharmacoepidemiology, HEOR, and/or biostatistical methods as applied to observational RWE studies, as well as current healthcare databases used in these studies
- Supports synthesis and preparation of statistical results for external presentations
- Provides methodological support for study design across multiple therapeutic areas
- Supports the development of tools for automation, ensuring scalability of the Biostatistics team's analytics capabilities
- Implements data processing pipelines and analyses
- Supports software product development and validation
- Supports and promotes educational activities and knowledge sharing, including developing best practices
Additional Responsibilities
- Mentors early-career biostatisticians/epidemiologists in quantitative methods.
QUALIFICATIONS*:
Required Qualifications
- PhD in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or related quantitative field and at least 1 year of relevant experience conducting analytics with secondary real-world data (RWD) sources (e.g., claims, registries).
- Extensive expertise in the design of observational/epidemiological studies, or relevant experience with clinical trial design and analysis.
- Extensive expertise in applying biostatistical and causal inference methods to yield decision-grade real-world evidence (RWE) from secondary RWD sources (e.g., claims, registries).
- Proficient in the R statistical programming language
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Ability to self-motivate
- Resilient, collaborative, flexible, and innovative
- Experience with Github
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Experience with Databricks and Spark clusters
