We are seeking a highly skilled Leading BI Engineer with expertise in Power BI to join our team.
This role involves managing the full lifecycle of business intelligence reporting, from
requirements gathering to the industrialization of report prototypes. The ideal candidate will excel in stakeholder communication, technical problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with Data Engineers and other IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine business reporting requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Perform in-depth analysis of source systems and data sets.
- Identify data quality issues and recommend solutions.
- Collect, transform, and integrate data from various sources.
- Design and implement optimal data models for data marts in the corporate Data Platform.
- Design, build, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to industrialize report prototypes into scalable solutions.
- Ensure reports are accurate, visually appealing, and actionable.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for BI solutions, including requirements, processes, data models, and report designs.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with organizational standards and is accessible to relevant teams.
- Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of BI solutions.
- Provide guidance to junior BI engineers/Data analysts and uphold best practices.
Required Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI: report design, DAX, and visualization best practices.
- Expertise in data integration and ETL tools as well as experience of work with ERP raw data as data sources (1C, SAP).
- Strong SQL skills for querying and optimizing large datasets.
- Experience in designing and implementing data models for analytical purposes.
- Familiarity with various Data Platforms architectures, data warehousing concepts, OLAP as well as streaming analytics.
- Experience in technical documentation of BI processes and solutions.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
Tools & Technologies:
- Power BI, including Power Query and DAX.
- SQL-based databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica or PySpark etc.), data treatment with Python will be a plus.
- Data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar).
- Documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or MS Word).
- Project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
