Lead BI Developer (12m FTC)

OVERVIEW:

As Gymshark continues on it's journey of scale, we're seeking to add to our Platform team in the form of a Lead BI Developer for a maternity contract on a 12 month fixed term basis. 

Join us on our journey where you will be part of this phenomenal journey where as the Lead BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and iterating on BI Modelling and dashboarding for the business. Using the latest Google tools (more specifically Google Looker and lookerML) you'll be spearheading best practice as well as developing monumental relationships across the business that can be successfully leveraged to build and implement successful models and dashboards used to make strategic decisions across all of Gymshark's internal functions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Driving data-driven decision-making across Gymshark

  • Have ownership of designing, developing and the upkeep of leading BI solutions and models to empower the business's analytical community

  • Architecting and delivering leading BI solutions to Gymshark; working across BI leadership to ensure output is in alignment with functional/business strategy

  • Lead in driving the technical change required in the business to deliver self-service analytics capability to the business

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential Criteria:

  • Varied experience in BI development, preferably within the retail industry
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling concepts
  • Exceptional capability to use BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modelling and machine learnin
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (Data Engineering to the Business)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Ability to mentor/coach members of the BI team

WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with the Google Cloud Stack (BigQuery, Dataform etc) Experience working with CI/CD pipelines through GitHub
  • Experience with retail-specific data sources, such as point-of-sale systems, inventory management systems, and customer relationship management systems
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes
  • Experience with data visualisation best practices and design principles

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
