For ICEYE’s expansion and upcoming programs in Japan, we are looking for a talented Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) team lead to work on the production of our satellites that will be produced in Japan.
What will you do in this role?
- Lead and mentor a team of AIT engineers and technicians. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure team members are effectively supporting mission objectives.
- Manage schedule priorities independently and execute work to meet company deliverables
- Perform and oversee the assembly and integration of spacecraft and satellite systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components. Ensure that all systems are assembled and integrated according to specifications and requirements.
- Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures for spacecraft and satellite systems. Ensure that all systems are rigorously tested to meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Prepare, maintain and review technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including assembly procedures, test plans, test specifications, test results, and compliance documentation. This includes reporting, identifying non-conformities, and implementing corrective actions.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during assembly, integration, and testing phases. Implement corrective actions and work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
- Drive continuous improvement in AIT processes and procedures. Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall performance.
- Interface with different teams.
Requirements
Required:
- A degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, integration or mechanical assembly experience
- Strong knowledge of AIT processes, including mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and system testing. Proficiency with AIT tools and software.
- Experience setting up and running tests and experiments
- Experience using lab equipment, such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Language proficiency in Japanese and English is a must
- Ability to travel and spend extended durations of time in Japan
- Eagerness to learn
- Problem solving mindset.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of RF systems and test equipment
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions; schematics, engineering drawings, and parts list
- Experience with using Jira
- Able to proficiently work in a linux environment
- Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing company, a precision manufacturing company, or high-volume manufacturing company
- Fast-pace approach
- Program management and customer management experience is considered as a bonus
