WellPower is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Language Access Services (LAS) Project Manager.  The Language Access Services team ensures that the organization’s commitment to communication equity is a robust and streamlined implementation of culturally and linguistically appropriate services 

The LAS Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating spoken languages, building out a network of external interpreters as independent contractors, building/maintaining systems and procedures, maintaining contracts, and analyzing/reporting on linguistic data. Please note that a substantial part of this role is coordinating interpreting services including scheduling and onboarding staff onto a new language access platform.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $65,365 - $70,000 per year

Essential Job Functions: 

Coordination: 

  • Coordinate all spoken language requests and provide support and coverage for ASL Coordinator as needed for ASL requests. 
  • Onboard all staff onto the language access platform (Boostlingo). 
  • Provide consultations related to language access to staff as requested. 
  • Work with temporary staffing agencies and independent contractors to ensure quality, efficiency, and affordability of services. 
  • Manage the process for interpreting technology and equipment used on-site to support interpretation. 

 Language Access Services (LAS):  

  • Develop and oversee the budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation, preparing reports, tracking expenditures, and adjusting spending as necessary to achieve financial objectives. 
  • Create a network of external interpreters to be used as independent contractors. 
  • Oversee all contracts pertaining to language services. 
  • Represent the DEIB team by participating in workgroups and meetings across the organization. 

Organizational Culture & Collaboration: 

  • Deliver training programs for staff on language access policies, the use of interpretation services, and cultural competency. 
  • Conduct needs assessments and surveys to identify language access gaps and prioritize service improvements. 
  • Promote cultural proficiency in all aspects of the organization’s functions and programming. 
  • Actively enhance the organization’s link to information and resources for members of underserved and underrepresented communities. 
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing through language access lens.
  • Other similar duties as assigned.

  • Work well with diverse populations within and outside the organization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community organizations, government agencies, foundations, not-for-profit, and other community partners. 

 

Education &  Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years experience in DEIB, Language Access or Mental Health experience,  or Master’s degree and 2+ years experience. 
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience in a mental health setting is not required.
