What You’ll Do

  • Create and maintain Camp Buckner grounds, flowerbeds, trees, and landscaping.
  • Mow, edge, rake, and trim shrubbery as needed, coordinate your work to ensure arriving guests have a great first impression of Camp.
  • Ensure the grounds, sidewalks, walkways, trails, and gutters are clean and clear of debris.
  • Trim trees during the appropriate time of the year including splitting wood, clearing, burn or haul brush and wood.
  • Operate ladders and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Operate and maintain gas powered lawn care equipment such as lawn mowers, weed-eaters, chain saws, edging equipment and blowers.
  • Perform routine pool maintenance, as directed.
  • Assist in moving equipment and furniture as needed.
  • Assist with leak detection and repair of sprinkler systems and replacement of broken sprinkler heads.
  • Work nights and weekends as directed to meet business needs.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as requested.

What You’ll Bring to the Team 

  • High School Certificate or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years prior related experience and/or training in landscaping required.
  • Requires ability to speak clearly and make self clearly understood in face to face interactions; ability to articulate with accuracy to speak on the phone.
  • Requires good organization and communication skills, both oral and in writing.
  • Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders, walk, stand, and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time; ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects.
  • Requires ability to work outside with exposure to sun, heat, and elements of nature.
  • Requires the ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
