Land & Nutrient Management Supervisor

The Land and Nutrient Supervisor for farms is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of  land and nutrient management operations. This includes developing and implementing land and nutrient management plans, monitoring and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, and ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of resources.

 

 

  • Develop and implement land and nutrient management plans for swine farming operations

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with environmental and other relevant regulations

  • Ensure the efficient and sustainable use of resources, including water, energy, and land

  • Conduct soil and water testing to assess nutrient levels and soil health as necessary

  • Develop and implement best management practices for nutrient management, including manure application, nutrient recycling, and erosion control

  • Explore the utilization of pig farm wastewater for irrigation and/or fertilization and oversee the safe and efficient application of wastewater and manure as organic fertilizers

  • Monitoring the conditions of the wastewater lagoons

  • Planning, assessment and monitoring of the company’s  internal tree planting initiatives in collaboration with the SHE and CSR Teams.

  • Coordinate with other agencies and organizations on land and nutrient management issues

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and technologies in land and nutrient management

  • Alignment with the SHE Team to clarify roles and responsibilities, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in land and nutrient management.

  • Background on Occupational Safety and Health is an advantage

Licenses:

  • Professional Driver’s License (Class 2)

 

Other Requirements:

  • Good public speaking and presentation skills, written and communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationship

  • Above average organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
