As an Intern Lab Technician, you will get hands-on experience in designing the future of how a laboratory should operate. In this role you will be responsible for keeping our iPSC neural cell production laboratories organized and operating. You’ll be working alongside a large team of in vitro neurobiologists and iPSC experts to deliver the cells required to build maps of biology. You’ll be directly handling crucial samples, recording data, summarizing results, and learning about scaled cell production. You will have the opportunity to:

Impact - An organized and well-run lab is absolutely critical in ensuring that the hundreds of cell production flasks can be handled efficiently. Your attention to detail and ability to make sound judgments, will impact the consistency of our platform.

Organize and Assist - This is a role that requires an (almost) obsessive passion for organization and attention to detail. You will assist in organizing and handling samples, cleaning of a variety of lab equipment and areas. Waste management, stocking and general lab support will aid in the successful operation of our neural iPSC production lab efforts.

Pivot - You will be managing a variety of competing priorities and will need to be able to shift and adapt at a moment’s notice.

Learn - You will be directly supporting a team producing vast numbers (100B+) iPSC neural cells, eager to mentor and teach you the many aspects involved in the process. You’ll be in a fast-paced TechBio environment with cutting-edge lab equipment and diverse cross-functional teams.
The Team You’ll Join .
- The NeuroAtlas team is a diverse, collaborative group working on complex human cell models for drug discovery. This team works on iPSC differentiation techniques, process development for scaled cell production, assay development for cell characterization, and gene editing techniques to deliver data packages that drive decisions about cellular models and compound selection. With a mission of bringing transformative medicines to patients, this high performing team works together to continually improve our workflows. The NeuroAtlas intern will work alongside, and in support of, R&D scientists. The intern will be trained and mentored by a scientist. Interaction with other team members outside of NeuroAtlas will occur on a daily basis as needed during the internship period.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Progressing toward a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a Biologic discipline)
- General familiarity with biological terminology
- Strong organization skills and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
