TEAM OVERVIEW

Established in 2013 with General (Ret.) David H. Petraeus as chairman, KKR’s Global Institute (KGI) works in partnership with KKR leadership, industry and country teams, portfolio companies, and limited partners to facilitate better investing through a better understanding of the world. KGI helps guide KKR’s investments and portfolio companies on geopolitical, security, and regulatory considerations to help manage risks and identify opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY

The KKR Global Institute (KGI) seeks to hire an individual to join our team at the intersection of geopolitics and finance. Working closely with a KKR Partner and two Managing Directors, the individual will take on a range of responsibilities related to geopolitical analysis, development of thought leadership and associated materials, management of engagement with global investment and other business teams, understanding and mitigating risk, developing investment themes, and liaising with external parties. This role requires strong analytic skills, collaboration, attention to detail, and self-driven initiative. The ideal candidate will have experience in the study or practice of geopolitics and potentially understanding of or experience with economic or commercial policies relevant to geopolitics, to include industrial policy, technology policy, and financial regulation. The position presents an exciting opportunity to engage in geopolitical analysis and research in a stimulating commercial environment.  The individual will be based in New York with potential for future mobility in London or Singapore.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage internal geopolitical risk mitigation processes to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with global investment teams on geopolitical and jurisdictional deal due diligence.
  • Coordinate with global teams across legal, public policy and affairs, and ESG to align with strategies and initiatives.
  • Conduct original research on global trends and geopolitical developments.
  • Develop thought leadership content to disseminate key insights.
  • Prepare engaging briefing materials in PowerPoint to communicate research findings effectively.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in geopolitics in the public or private sector. Candidates who fall outside the stated range will be considered based on skills, achievements and potential.
  • International experience desirable.
  • Competency at PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing skills.

#LI-ONSITE

This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$150,000$175,000 USD
