KKR Credit: Special Purpose Vehicle Accounting Manager

TEAM OVERVIEW

KKR’s Global Finance team oversees the firm’s tax compliance, credit and accounting, and reporting matters to produce analytical insights that drive business decisions and long-term success. The team is responsible for designing efficient frameworks through internal and external data and reports to understand the market environment and business dynamics and implement best practices. The team also collaborates closely with KKR’s Legal and Compliance team to ensure compliance and accurate reporting and performance of our corporate tax entities related to our investment funds. The Global Finance team also functions as a support for clients, from onboarding to investor communications and overall relationship management across all asset class, as well as responding to any ad-hoc tax-related requests.

POSITION SUMMARY

KKR is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its KKR Credit team in Houston. The opportunity is to work on KKR Credit’s Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success and advancement in prior roles and will be a person who has demonstrated strong technical fund and problem solving skills and is also someone who has a great appetite for knowledge and professional growth.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform SPV accounting work in our accounting systems
• Responsible for detailed equity accounting and analysis, including complex partnership equity accounting and asset valuations
• Active role in fund reporting including preparation of quarterly financial statements and consolidation reporting to the Public Reporting Group. Also prepare annual GAAP financial statements and coordination of audits with external auditors
• Involvement with operational duties including capital calls, capital distributions, and liquidity management
• Assist with ad-hoc requests, investor questions, and frequent interaction with our deal team and asset management team
• Frequent project coordination work
• Assist in driving accounting, reporting and business process simplification and efficiency initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional with at least +5 years of accounting or industry experience with an understanding of private funds, partnership accounting and financial instruments
• Undergraduate degree CPA and/or advanced degree in finance or related field preferred
• Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Advanced user of Excel and highly proficient with MS Word and MS PowerPoint
• Prior experience with Investran and/or Geneva is preferred, but not required
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a growing environment
• Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently and handle heavy workloads while remaining attentive to detail
• Highly developed planning and organizational skills; able to anticipate change, adjust responses accordingly, and initiate steps to maximize resources toward a common objective
