K-12 - Sales & Marketing Consultant, Hodder Learning

We are looking to recruit an experienced K12 Sales and Marketing Consultant to sell our highly regarded and successful range of courseware and teacher professional development publishing into the K-12 schools’ market. The successful applicant will service International and British curriculum schools as well as US K12 schools and local booksellers.

This role has additional responsibility for preparing Marketing materials and campaigns for North America promotion of our Professional Development publishing and services; The Hachette Learning Academy.
 
You will seek out sales leads by visiting schools, school districts and booksellers in the state you are based in and you will regularly attend conferences and events to meet your customers both nationally and internationally.
 
You will work collaboratively with teachers and other education professionals to gain a thorough understanding of current teaching practices. You will strive towards building a thriving partnership with your customers based on trust and offer them practical solutions through our range of products and resources across all Hachette Learning imprints, products and services.
Your focus will be on maintaining excellent working relationships with schools to encourage loyalty and repeat custom.
 
You’ll collaborate with the wider USA and International schools sales and marketing teams and quickly become a positive and essential part of our growing and ambitious team. You’ll have a good understanding of teaching and learning developed from time in the classroom or from selling or marketing to schools in the K12 sector. 
 
This role will be fully remote with the ideal candidate being based within the mainland US on the East coast or in Texas. 
 
You will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
  • Proven consultative sales, presentation, and networking skills
  • Proven marketing skills including social media, direct mail and email
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with a keen eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • An independent decision maker
  • Highly motivated and able to plan and manage own workload independently
  • Computer literate with Skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Customer focused and proactive
  • Flexible, adaptable, and positive
  • Confident/comfortable with international business travel and able to conduct visits in the field away from home for up to 50% of the time. 
Desirable:
  • Experience in both International B2C and B2B sales an advantage
  • A successful track record in International K12 Education publishing/sales/teaching/training
  • Good working knowledge of the North American and International education marketplaces
  • Good Working knowledge of Teacher professional development issues and needs

The compensation range for this position is $50,000-$70,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
