W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

Navarino Dunes is looking for a Junior Sommelier. The selected candidate will be wine professional, responsible for supervising wine serving.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sommelier with ordering, receiving, storing, organizing and selling wine labels in the restaurant.
  • Maintain an accurate wine list and assist in the proper mis-en-place for wine service, as well as correct handling, use, storage, and cleaning of all wine service equipment.
  • Follow company’s wine service standards. Ensure that all wines are served and presented to guests in the proper procedure, while making wine and food recommendations.
  • Communicate any issues, challenges and complaints to Restaurant Manager and Sommelier, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure company policies, in regard to drinking age limits are followed.
  • Follow company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene.
  • Follow all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs and Brand Standards at all times. Guide and encourage team to do the same.
  • Attend all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or WSET Level 3/CMS Level qualification.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Passionate about wine and exceptional wine service.
  • Experienced in operating hotel management systems (Opera, Micros, MC) and proficient in various software applications.
  • Strong skills in selling and upselling.
  • Committed to providing outstanding customer service and enhancing guest experiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team focused on exceeding guest expectations.
