We're on a journey, taking the best people with us and so are looking for an experienced Junior Merchandiser to join us at Karen Millen on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract as part of a maternity cover! As a Junior Merchandiser you will be responsible for making sure the product sells the best, most profitably and apart of our Merchandising team who are the self-proclaimed pioneers of the test and repeat model.

You will be supporting the merchandising function for the business in order to ensure that all relevant stakeholders have accurate data which can directly, proactively and consistently inform decisions relating to maximising profitability and contributing to overall business strategy and growth.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • To prepare reporting and present in Weekly and Monthly Trading Meetings
  • Own an area or category within the business. Pro-actively manage the area from a sales, profitability and stock perspective.
  • Manage with guidance to ensure that the buying function is effectively controlled within the agreed business strategy, and that all necessary frameworks, controls and skill sets are in place to enable the necessary degree of both long term planning and in season trading to maximise business performance.
  • Reviews Daily and Weekly Sales performance and carriers out Rebuy and Markdown actions where required.
  • Reviews over and under performance at Product Group level and drives trading actions to maximise potential and minimise risk.
  • Seeds and manages a WSSI by accurately forecasting demand, OTB, returns, AVSP and margin.
  • Takes ownership of the Critical Path Management and takes appropriate action on issues when they arise.
  • Continues to work closely with QC, Design and building on Supplier relations.

You will be supporting the Head of Merchandising to ensure that the buying function is effectively controlled within the agreed business strategy, and that all necessary frameworks, controls and skill sets are in place to enable the necessary degree of both long term planning and in season trading to maximise business performance.

MORE ABOUT YOU

  • Experience working as an Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser in another retailer/business.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communicator, will be required to communicate with external and internal stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Is an ambassador for the brand
  • Attends training, meetings and other events as requested by direct manager or senior management
  • Always strives to improve the department’s operation and increase knowledge of own and related job functions.
