Junior HR Business Partner

We are seeking a Junior HR Business Partner to join our busy, collaborative UK HR Team, where we strongly believe that working hard and having fun are two compatible elements.  You will be working with the HR UK team and will be part of the South West Europe team to enable us to support the business fully. This role offers a hybrid (2 days per week in our Staines office) working model. The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to drive HR initiatives that support the business strategy.

The tasks include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships, providing HR advice to management and employees, ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed.
  • Manage sickness and absence cases, liaising with occupational health providers and assisting with health-related risk assessments.
  • Handle family leave cases and flexible working requests.
  • Support our recruitment processes, including interviewing, extending offers and raising tickets for our HRSS Team to fulfil the onboarding process.
  • Deliver our weekly HR Induction to all new starters in the UK.
  • Manage and resolve complexed ER cases whilst prioritising and juggling a varied and busy workload, mitigating risk to the business.
  • Deliver manager training programs, both virtually and in person.
  • Work collaboratively with the South West Europe and Global HR team on transformation projects and HR initiatives.
  • Hands on approach to tackle everything from administration to coaching conversations whilst we transform the HR organisation.
  • Understand business needs and influence managers to implement initiatives and changes in practice.
  • Champion best practice data and systems management and contribute to continuous improvement of our HR systems and practices.
  • Work with the HR Shared Service Centre and raise employee lifecycle change tickets to support with the administration and maintenance of HR data and information systems.
  • Help to ensure timely data reporting and analytics generation for the business stakeholders.
  • International cooperation within the framework of a central matrix organisation.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced role, as an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor, or similar role.
  • Empathy and high emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to push back at the business and provide good business rationale for challenging and advising alternative options. 
  • Experience in working with supra-regional teams within the framework of an enterprise organisation.
  • Experience with HR Shared Service Centres.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Law and of current HR best practice.
  • Ability to manage a functional area autonomously.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving and multitasking whilst remaining calm under pressure.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Confidence to challenge senior stakeholders as appropriate and when necessary.
  • Experience of working on change and project related activity.
  • Resilient with ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent organisational and attention to detail skills.
  • Desire and ability to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems will be a plus.

 

  • HR qualification (CIPD Level 7) an advantage but not essential
