About Voice Brands:

Over two decades, Energy Voice (a DC Thomson brand), has established itself as the pre-eminent news service for the UK energy sector. In recent years, the brand has built a reputation for excellence in events, podcasting and other digital media formats, and seen rapid revenue growth consequently.

We are now entering an exciting new phase of our development, broadcasting the UK energy transition and, through our new E-FWD brand, providing forward-thinking energy leaders with the insight and connectivity they need to accelerate progress in energy.

Who we’re looking for:

You will be joining the Marketing team with an opportunity to support on visual identity across our two brands, Energy Voice and E-FWD, along with some client-based assets.

This means that we’re looking for someone with a broad range of design skills who is familiar with designing across a spectrum of channels.

A natural multi-tasker, you’ll create assets to support with our multiple campaigns including social media, video thumbnails, digital ads and landing pages created through HubSpot.

You’ll work closely with our Digital Content Creator on design concepts, ensuring brand consistency across all channels and are elevated to a high standard of design.

Ultimately, we want both our brands to look slick and appealing to both new subscribers and existing subscribers and this role is integral to achieving this.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support on the visual elements of our brands (Energy Voice and E-FWD)
  • Elevating the visual elements of both brands to a high standard of design
  • Creation of graphic elements across both Energy brands to ensure brand consistency
  • Supporting the social media and AV teams to create assets that elevate our output
  • Creation of landing pages on HubSpot to drive conversions
  • Design of printed collateral including ads used within news publications, our printed supplement plus event collateral such as banners and flyers
  • Help the editorial teams improve imagery used in our content, maintaining brand identity throughout
  • Work with the Digital Content Creator to establish a content hub of ‘what good looks like’ to provide a single source of brand and tone of voice guidance, alongside assets for presentations and engagement with customers and stakeholders

Requirements

Knowledge, qualifications, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Skilled in Adobe Suite
  • Experience as a graphic designer or postgraduate degree in graphic design
  • Understanding of HubSpot CRM or light coding knowledge
  • Knowledgeable on the latest marketing trends
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders of all levels
  • Data driven – we need you to have an eye on how well your creative performs to drive incremental change and improvement
  • Strong creative and design experience with attention to detail
  • Discipline to manage competing projects with tight deadlines

Highly desirable:

  • The ability to produce motion graphics, animations or have After Effects experience
  • Experience using Canva and PowerPoint for collaboration with non-designers
  • Experience with live broadcast or podcast production is an added bonus
