As a Credit Controller, your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain the financial health of our organization by effectively controlling credit and collections. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and management to ensure timely payments and minimize credit risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
Establish and monitor credit limits.
Make recommendations regarding credit approvals or rejections.
Contact customers to collect outstanding debts.
Maintain accurate records of collections and follow-up actions.
Resolve customer disputes and discrepancies.
Generate and send out accurate and timely invoices.
Verify invoice accuracy and resolve any billing issues.
Coordinate with the billing department for prompt invoice delivery.
Allocate payments to customer accounts accurately.
Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
Process payments, refunds, and adjustments as needed.
Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable and collections status.
Analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate actions.
Implement credit control policies and procedures.
Assess and mitigate credit risk through regular review and monitoringMaintain professional and effective communication with customers regarding outstanding balances
Negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of credit and collections processes.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
