 Role Description:

Job Title: Business Intelligence Consultant

Location: Bangalore

Description:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Consultant to join our dynamic team within the Investment Banking sector. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data visualisation, dashboard development, and data management to deliver products and discover actionable insights from these products to meet the needs of our stakeholders across operations. You will be a key member of the Data Analytics team collaborating with others to understand requirements, analyse and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them and support them in production.

Key responsibilities

  • Data Transformation: Identify, extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, with a focus on delivering clean and useful data to support analytical and reporting needs.
  • Data Asset Management: Stand up and manage data assets, ensuring they are optimised for business intelligence processes and are closely aligned with the bank's strategic objectives.
  • Data Visualisation/Dashboard Development: Translate complex data sets into clear and meaningful visualisations. Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Looker, and Power BI
  • Model Training: Train and deploy Machine Learning models e.g. ReInfer
  • Collaboration with Operations Teams: Work closely with operations teams across the bank, understanding their unique data requirements and delivering tailored solutions that resonate with their operational challenges.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management: Be yourself and be prepared to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from junior team members to senior executives, ensuring that your findings and insights are communicated effectively and authentically.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay curious and committed to learning, keeping up with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data visualisation, and always seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of BI solutions and processes, ensuring transparency and facilitating future enhancements while keeping stakeholders informed.

Key Skills & Expertise

Business Intelligence Tools Expertise: Proficiency in Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar BI tools, with a proven ability to create meaningful dashboards and reports that truly serve the needs of your stakeholders.

Data Management: Strong experience in data wrangling, ETL processes, and managing data pipelines, with a focus on delivering high-quality data for analysis and decision-making.

Analytical Skills: A knack for analysing and interpreting large and complex data sets, with an eye for identifying key trends and insights that matter most to your stakeholders.

Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of database management, data pre-processing, data manipulation, SQL, Python, and data warehousing concepts, with the ability to apply these skills in a way that adds value to the business, even if you're not a deep technical expert. Experience in Google Cloud (GCP) solutions. Experience with machine learning tools, such as Re:infer, and the ability to train and deploy machine learning model

Investment Banking Knowledge: Familiarity with the investment banking industry, understanding its operations, data needs, and regulatory environment, and being able to translate that knowledge into effective BI solutions.

Stakeholder Management: A proven track record of engaging with senior stakeholders, managing expectations, and delivering impactful presentations, all while staying true to who you are.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business challenges, always thinking about how your work can make a difference.

Team Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams, contributing to collaborative problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and building a supportive team environment. Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
