As a Junior Applications Engineer, you’ll immerse yourself in our technology, gaining a deep understanding of its various applications and features. You’ll play a key role in assisting the R&D team by facilitating experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results both in-house and from the field. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly will be vital as you document and report on product features and improvements.

In addition to collaborating with the R&D team, you’ll work directly with customers to understand their needs, gather requirements, and provide solutions that improve their experience with our products. Your problem-solving skills will be essential as you resolve technical issues and provide technical support to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will also have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally, supporting projects, gathering market intelligence, and promoting a customer-first approach. Your initiative and ownership will allow you to advise on process improvements, share valuable feedback with internal teams, and ensure quality, accuracy, and professionalism in everything you do.

This role requires effective time management, teamwork, and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. You’ll also stay current with your technical knowledge and contribute to ongoing innovation, making an impact within the company and with our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Become proficient in operating and understanding our technology, including various applications and new features.
  • Assist the R&D team by facilitating experiments, collecting and analyzing data from both in-house and field sources, and providing clear documentation to validate product features.
  • Articulate how customers can achieve maximum value from our technology and provide technical support to resolve issues in line with company values and financial objectives.
  • Gather market intelligence, monitor competitors’ strategies, and identify new product requirements by understanding and conveying customer needs.
  • Advise on process improvements, design and quality feedback, and recommend ways to improve efficiency for sales, project, and service managers.
  • Provide feedback on field issues to the engineering team, making suggestions for product and process improvements.
  • Promote a “Safety first” culture and complete administrative tasks accurately and on time.
  • Foster a customer-first mindset by creating a culture of engagement, motivation, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
  • 2+ years in automation, machinery, or engineering sectors
  • Minimum of a tertiary degree or equivalent, preferably in Engineering, Management, or an industry-related subject
  • Fluent in English (additional EMEA languages a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and influence at all organizational levels, including executive and C-suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment
  • Able to handle stressful situations and meet deadlines effectively
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including six two-week international trips per year.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment as well as industrial customer worksites
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods, kneel, bend, and stand as necessary. Ability to lift up to 20kg
