Numbers run the business: In the Finance Department, we see ourselves as a business partner and enabler for our operating teams and management. We facilitate a smart corporate and financial strategy with technical expertise across accounting, regulatory, tax and strategic financial planning & analysis, allowing Trade Republic to make educated decisions at every step. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• This is a unique opportunity to be a key contributor and shape the accounting world within Trade Republic Bank
• You will be responsible for adjusting our accounting policies (HGB, IFRS, RechKredV) across all business areas and ensure their proper  documentation and adoption
• Be the face of Accounting when working closely with stakeholders across the company to define applicable accounting standards and logics support new product development
• Translate the accounting standards to correct ledger postings but also be able to understand the existing logics and find any potential open items quickly
• Drive conversations with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including our year-end group audit

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Professional experience in accounting, financial services, audit, or a comparable position in a top-tier accounting / advisory firm
• Good  technical accounting (HGB, IFRS) knowledge with the elements of banking regulations
• Experience in the financial services / banking sector or a fintech startup with good knowledge of relevant banking-specific topics and accounting complexities
• Self starter with the drive to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, high-growth organisation
• Good communication skills and ability to break down complex accounting topics into smaller pieces
• Advanced knowledge of Excel in connection with running SQL queries
