Primary Responsibilities:
Discover misleading claims with the use of different platforms and techniques. Identify fake news/content per the client’s requirements and find ways to counter it.
Write original, high-quality reports to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines.
Work on content moderation and mis/disinformation detection projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali.
Strong understanding of the political and media landscape in India.
Proactively pitch ideas around misleading claims that can be turned into reports.
Strong analytical skills and can remain impartial and critical while writing on complex and sensitive topics.
Ability to grasp new and complicated information quickly.
Familiarity with Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
Qualifications:
Minimum BA/PG Diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication, but open to candidates from other backgrounds if they have the required experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bengali and English languages.
Knowledge of social media monitoring and open-source intelligence collection, gathering, and dissemination techniques, processes, and tools.
A high degree of seasoned judgment related to collecting and analyzing intelligence information.
Strong organizational skills and creative thinker with an ability to analyze a wide array of data.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Professional journalism, fake news detection, or other editorial/research experience of at least 0-3 years.
