Journey Electrician

Our partner is seeking a Journey Electrician for a location in Springfield, OR. The Electrician will play a crucial role in maintaining high production levels by conducting predictive and preventive maintenance on all equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Director, the Electrician will collaborate closely with the Maintenance, Production, and Management Teams to address issues and ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Must possess a current State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician card.
  • Familiarity with the mill electrical system including MCC's, disconnects, machines, and conveying systems.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and installations according to code.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control power ranging from 120VAC to 480VAC.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with low voltage AC and DC systems.
  • Troubleshoot various power supplies including low voltage, multi-voltage, and constant voltage.
  • Interpret prints of installations accurately.
  • Address 3-phase power, MCC's, motors, relay logic, and aux contacts troubleshooting.
  • Understand machine center control/electrical systems.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use timers, counters, basic ladder logic, and force functions.
  • Understand and troubleshoot PLC program logic and its components.
  • Familiarity with AC frequency drives and soft starters.
  • Knowledge of plant optimizer systems and ability to restart and calibrate scanner systems.
  • Understand plant production and downtime reports, with the ability to reset and restart computer systems.
  • Proficiency in HMI systems and knowledge of PLC network.
  • Ability to undertake moderately complex projects including conduit layout, wire sizing, control wiring, and MCC & motor sizing.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician card.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and installations according to code.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for various electrical systems ranging from low voltage to 480VAC.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, Allen Bradley PLC program schools, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of AC frequency drives, soft starters, and plant optimizer systems.
  • Ability to interpret plant production and downtime reports.
  • Familiarity with HMI systems, PLC network, and PanelView and MessageView systems.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
