The role of “PS Operations –Jira Administrator,” reporting to the Director, Global Professional Services Operations, is key in developing our tooling strategy to help the PSO organization operate more efficiently and ensure we build our tooling capability the right way first time, with Jira being our primary platform.
While focusing on the development of our Jira platform, the role will additionally develop, maintain, and strategize the integration to the wider Atlassian ecosystem, such as Plug-Ins, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
In addition to general Jira Administration, the candidate must have deep experience with Projects and Workflows. The platform will be supporting around 200 users and potentially opening up Forms to Nexthink’s customers, so security design experience is key while adhering to Nexthink’s Access Control Policy.
- Must have development experience in Scripting with ScriptRunner.
- Understand the differences between a Listener, behavior, scripted field, job, script fragment, workflow post-function, workflow validator, etc.
- Prior experience developing the above types of Scripts.
- Expert employing ‘defensive programming’ coding standard approach
- Experience with Jira Service Management & Confluence administration preferred
- Experience with GitHub
- Expert in consuming and developing Restful APIs.
- Comfortable with writing straightforward SQL queries and advanced SQL queries.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging small to large software applications, components, and utilities.
- Create, configure, and customize Jira projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes, and notification schemes to meet business needs
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, preferably with an understanding of Agile Kanban/Scrum
- Assist in analysing current PS Atlassian tooling practices and identify areas for enhancement.
- Jira features & its implementation knowledge like how to create user stories, how to link with an EPIC, what is sprint, project release etc.
- Collaborate with wider PSO leaders for questions & answers, help debug code, and provide explanations on why and how Jira features are implemented in a certain way.
- Write related documentation as required to help maintain and support Atlassian applications.
- Minimum of 5- 9 years of experience working with JIRA
- ACP-620 Managing Jira Projects for Cloud Certification (Required)
- ACP-120 Jira Administration for Cloud Certification (Required)
- ACP-420 Managing Jira Service Projects for Cloud (Desired)
- Education in computer science or a strong background in IT roles
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
