We are looking for a Java Team Lead to join the Research&Development Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with an experienced Java Team Lead in guiding a team of highly skilled engineers, consisting of 3 to 8 members. The role also involves managing the daily operations of projects and effectively communicating with the customer's project team.
You will be personally responsible for the professional growth of your team members, overseeing daily task management, and supervising and guiding a distributed team of professionals, all while collaborating with the customer’s team on requirements. As the primary technical point of contact for the customer, you should possess excellent communication skills, a technical mindset with keen attention to detail, and the ability to analyze proposed approaches and develop better solutions.

This is also an incredible opportunity to work on ensuring high availability and consistency within a distributed system that processes millions of operations daily. Additionally, you will encounter various challenges, including (but not limited to):
- Implementing complex backend business logic related to options strategies trading, and refining existing components (core trading system, key modules and services, administrative UI backend),
- Developing an API layer for trading data, making it convenient for use in the client terminal,
- Engaging in teamwork through mandatory code reviews, daily meetings, participation in planning and retrospectives, and collaboration with QA engineers, analysts, and other teams,
- Covering the code with unit and integration tests, and setting up CI/CD configurations,
- Communicating with clients and taking part in requirements elaboration, architecture discussions, and external demonstrations,
- Ensuring effective monitoring and efficient incident processing.
In addition, you will be expected to maintain high test coverage and promote best coding practices within the team. Finally, all team members are expected to actively participate in system health monitoring and support.
We expect the Java Team Lead to:
- Oversee daily team operations,
- Provide mentorship and share knowledge,
- Maintain and enhance the development process (similar to Scrum),
- Collaborate with the customer’s team to analyze and work on requirements, including implementation specifics,
- Estimate effort required for requirements,
- Manage implementation details to ensure consistency with the initial design,
- Participate in code reviews,
- Develop new features,
- Write unit and integration tests.
Must-have skills:
- Demonstarted experience as a team lead managing a team of 4-5 developers,
- Strong proficiency in the Java programming language,
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities,
- Thorough understanding of the testing pyramid, especially unit, integration, and acceptance testing,
- A keen interest in writing, optimizing, documenting, and maintaining code that is thoroughly covered by tests,
- A strong commitment to achieving team goals, a willingness to assist colleagues, and the ability to give and receive constructive criticism,

Proficiency in English language (C1 level or higher) to effectively communicate with the team and client.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with the Spring framework,
- Experience in scaling applications horizontally,
- Hands-on experience in writing concurrent Java code,
- Knowledge of XP practices with the willingness to implement them,
- A desire to mentor and share knowledge with others,
- Experience in software and application design and architecture,
