The role
The M&A Reporter will report on M&A activities in Japan. He/she will be responsible for interviewing company executives and market experts regarding M&A and investment strategies as well as market trends to compile into intelligence reports. Preference will be given to candidates with reporting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview Japan-based companies and market experts regarding M&A strategies and market trends
- Take charge of the assigned sectors and remain informed on latest deals, activities, and trends in the space
- Communicate and cooperate with local and regional team members
- Maintain and expand source network
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Fluency in Japanese and English (articles will be written in English)
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- 3+ years’ experience in journalism preferred
- Knowledge of the financial markets preferred but not necessary
- Specific sector knowledge a plus
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, good time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
