Summary/Objective
Coordinates and expedites the flow of janitorial task for an assigned team/shift within a designated facility according to the schedule that has been established for the assigned facility. Facilitates and supports the janitorial team in achieving facility cleanliness. The individual will also be required to complete daily janitorial tasks.

- Responsible for maintaining and enforcing a clean and safe facility.
- Provide day-to-day support and leadership to a team of Janitorial Tech employees.
- Perform repetitive motions as required to support maintenance and/or facility operations.
- Be instrumental in ensuring that all work is performed accurately and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and best methods.
- Responsible for enforcing and adhering to all company policies and rules as well as written departmental work instructions.
- Assist the Janitorial Supervisor in actively aligning Janitorial Techs to optimize workflow and throughput for the team and shift; provide input on work assignments and labor deployment.
- Possess a working understanding and the ability to perform all functions of team members and assist in training new team members.
- Be a positive role model by being active and working side by side with employees. Works to promote teamwork by modeling integrity, honesty, approachability and reinforcing positive behavior.
- Ability to fill in for supervisor when needed as directed.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Lifts items that weigh up to 40 lb.
- Perform duties in standing position for extended periods.
- Pushes, pulls and moves containers that weigh at least 40 lb.
- Reaches, pushes, pulls, handles, lifts, inserts, bends, leans and stretches to perform duties.
- Bend and stoop to draining unclean water from tank.
- Bend to clean front sweeper area of debris.
- Push and pull garbage dumpster as trash is emptied from the floor scrubber.
- Mops floor as assigned.
- Scrubs and coats floors as assigned.
- Performs housekeeping duties in accordance with good commercial practices.
- Operates common housekeeping equipment.
- Assures chemical supplies are properly used and stored.
- Respond promptly to critical situations, i.e., water spills, chemical spills, etc.
- Visually inspects plant and advises management of any unsatisfactory, unsafe or nonconforming conditions.
Supervisory Responsibility
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near forklift traffic & moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (verbal/written), converse with, and exchange information with others.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.

Required Experience
- 1 year of prior industrial housekeeping and Facilities experience.

- Must be able to perform the job successfully.

- Requires above average ability to read, write, and speak English, prepare reports, and follow instructions.
- Position requires ability to act independently and work with minimum supervision.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
