The role IT Support Technician is accountable to the Office Manager/Human Resources Business Partner for all activities relating to IT. The work performed is includes both cGMP and non-cGMP. The position requires prior experience in a similar role and University or College degree/diploma is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core:
- Provide support to all departments within the organization with respect to applications and hardware
- Ensure that ALL IT Services (end user computing & IT laboratory computer support) are supported effectively on a continuous basis
- Must cooperate and collaborate with the members of the IT support team (Alphora, NSC, Eurofins groups)
- Manage service tickets effectively while properly documenting until fully resolved
- Support office applications, desktop, computer systems, printing issues
- Support for onsite hardware configuration and set-up
- Identify and troubleshoot user specific issues and escalate as required
- Continuously document and maintain standard operating procedures and system preventative maintenance protocols
- Preventative maintenance (PMs) – responsible for documentation and execution
- Ability to clearly document work with a high attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts
- Internal/External Audit support on behalf of IT
- Support computer deployment and employee moves
- Maintain database to track IT assets and their deployment
- New hire support – provide end user support during orientation as required
- Must take a proactive approach and recommend better day to day operational solutions
- Reactive - Engage immediately to provide outstanding customer service and support
- Must take initiative on all tasks and work with minimal supervision
- Responsible for compliance with GMP guidelines and ensuring that all GMPs and SOPs are followed.
- Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Work harmoniously with all fellow employees.
- Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules/regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents immediately.
Additional:
- Perform additional duties as required.
- College/University degree in Computer Sciences or related field an asset
- Must have strong sense of accountability and due process
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills are required
- Must be able to support multiple local sites (daily access to vehicle a must)
- Min 2 years relative IT experience
- Open to recent graduates with relative experience.
- Must have experience working with Microsoft Office applications
- Exposure to GMP/lab environment an asset
