Purpose:
- Ensure outstanding customer support and service standards via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions at the IT help desk.
- Maximize immediate resolution of IT service incidents.
- Deliver, service, install, and support all IT equipment and software for staff and student desktops.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site telephone support for staff, logging and resolving incidents immediately using remote technology.
- Deliver exceptional customer support through politeness, patience, and effective problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents and follow service level agreements to ensure timely service delivery.
- Maximize instant resolution of service incidents and minimize escalations to other technicians.
- Unpack, connect, asset tag, and configure desktop equipment, ensuring accurate records and recycling of waste.
- Replace and install desktop computers and manage old equipment disposal.
- Offer basic support for telephone and mobile devices, including issuing top-ups.
- Assist with communications cabinet installations and cable management.
- Support interactive teaching tools, including whiteboards and projectors.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems and desktop software, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Diagnose hardware faults and replace components safely.
- Manage Active Directory tasks, including accounts and groups.
- Install network printers and monitor DHCP server security.
- Liaise with IT vendors and manage outsourced maintenance.
- Oversee IT inventory management.
