Position: IT Supervisor, Hawesville Mill
Reporting to the Mill IT Manager, the IT Supervisor will act as the liaison between the local mill and the Corporate IT organization. You will lead the IT support efforts for the Domtar Hawesville Mill in conjunction with the centralized support teams including the support of desktops, networks, servers, manufacturing applications, and process control. You will supervise and manage the local IT Field Service Technicians (FSTs) located at the mill, and you and your team will be responsible for ensuring that all local IT-related needs are met in a timely manner.
More specifically, you will:
- Serve as a business liaison, building relationships at all levels of the business including Site Leadership, HR, Finance, IT, PCN-OT, and production floor personnel.
- Coordinate IT applications, infrastructure projects, and mill-led process control projects, upgrades, implementations, requests, etc., working with local and remote mill IT, process control engineers and staff, and outside vendor teams
- Support mill IT users by providing technical analysis and perspective pertinent to local facility operations and processes
- Assist in maintaining compliance with corporate IT standards and direction.
- Assist with production system incident response to restore service to mill users when interrupted.
- Function as the mill's IT main point of contact and the voice to Corporate IT. Communicate IT changes, initiatives, and outages to business stakeholders and ensure that Corporate IT is informed of all mill changes that may impact them.
- Coach and develop the on-site field services technicians (FSTs). Facilitate training as needed and serve as a managerial and technical resource to support their needs at the various sites.
- Work with Site Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Process Control, PCN-OT, and Corporate IT Teams to ensure simultaneous support of business requirements, technology policy, procedures, and standards.
- Coordinate IT application and infrastructure projects, upgrades, and requests that affect the mill’s supported sites and their operations. Facilitate training, testing, and change management as needed.

Coordinate incident response to restore service to site users when interrupted. Provide follow-up analysis and recommendations on preventive measures.
- When applicable, work with Site Leadership to plan, budget, manage, and provide detailed specifications for upgrades and improvements.
- Maintain technical expertise through company-sponsored training as well as self-study.
Your profile:
- You have a four-year Degree in managing Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience (preferably within a manufacturing environment) with at least two years in a leadership capacity
- Proven understanding of IT support, including ITIL concepts and best practices, Microsoft technologies, Cisco networks, and virtualization technologies.
- General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
- Proven effective strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, reasoning, critical thinking, and decision-making.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including effective influencing and coaching of peers and subordinates.
- Strong teaming skills: The ability to work with diverse teams at multiple organizational levels and across business functions.
