As we continue on this journey, we have identified the need for a pivotal role – APAC Project Analyst. We are reimaging and scaling our Portfolio and Programme capabilities and this role will be responsible for helping and ensuring the smooth running and successful delivery of the initiatives they are working on. This role will be part of the Strategic Portfolio Delivery community, reporting into the APAC Chapter Lead, Project Analysts in the Global Portfolio and Programme Management Team.

This role will help ensure the Transformation function is executing WPP IT’s vision, while professionalising how we mobilise and deliver programmes as a service, ensure value focused approach, and benefits & cost control through tools that are fit for purpose. Acting as a key liaison between the key teams involved in the transformation initiative, you will be collaborating with all stakeholders to help deliver value from inception through to delivery and beyond. The role will contribute in establishing a PPM community built on continuous learning, a support network, and a compelling career progression framework. It will support the embedding of a high-performing culture that has WPP’s values at the heart of how it operates.


What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that define objectives, timelines, resources, and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Collect and analyze project data (timelines, resources, costs) to provide actionable insights and make informed decisions.
  • Regularly report on project status and performance metrics to stakeholders, offering recommendations based on data trends.
  • Collaborates with a diverse multi-disciplinary global team to understand business needs and outcomes and works closely with key stakeholders across the company to deliver
  • Act as the primary liaison between project teams, business stakeholders, and senior management, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
  • Present project updates, key findings, and recommendations to stakeholders, using data visualization and reports to illustrate project progress.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve project issues proactively by analyzing root causes and facilitating problem-solving within the project team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, ensuring they are translated into technical specifications and project goals.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet business and technical needs by consistently revisiting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and expenditures align with financial forecasts.
  • Work with finance and procurement teams to optimize resource allocation and vendor contracts to support project objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments by analyzing project data and identifying opportunities to optimize workflows, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Implement continuous improvements based on post-project evaluations, leveraging data from completed projects to refine future planning and execution.

 

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience leading IT projects from initiation to closure, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello).
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and synthesize complex project data to inform decision-making.
  • Proficient in using analytical and reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting data-driven insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead teams while fostering collaboration and problem-solving within fast-paced environments.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems, software development, and technical infrastructure to effectively manage and analyze projects.
  • Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Proactive approach to solving project challenges, supported by strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting project priorities while maintaining focus on overarching project objectives and timelines.
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to changing priorities, with the ability to reshape, reconfigure and realign solutions to meet challenging deadlines without jeopardising the successful delivery of the programme
