Title: 

IT Project Manager 

Job Purpose: 

The IT Project Manager will lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple projects. The Project Manager must do this within scope, to a certain quality, and within time and cost constraints. These factors may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline a work plan.
  • Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Implement a project communication plan.
  • Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans.
  • Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization.
  • Ensure that project goals are in line with business objectives.
  • Ensure that project goals are achieved.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
  • Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business stakeholders.
  • Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements according to project goals.
  • Help resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Explore new ways to increase customer or client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite/ Office 365
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills,
  • Understanding of Technology solutions, e.g. Web Services, Cloud compute.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and agile planning tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (for example, that of the Project
  • Management Institute, PRINCE2 and agile approaches)
  • Sensitivity to working in a political environment and to interacting with senior leadership
  • Strong problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience preparing and presenting on Project proposals, progress, benefits and risks
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills. This blend is vital because this is a highly visible position with substantial impact
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Ability to develop and execute a project resource plan that ensures that the right people are in the right place doing the right things at the right time
  • 3+ years' of experience in related industry - Clinical Trials/ Logistics
  • Knowledge of Clinical Trial Systems (EDC, IRT, CTMS), Good Clinical Practice and related industry regulations

The ideal candidate will be an agent of transformation within Marken. They will have an understanding of the clinical trial process or a strong appetite to learn. Building and being able to articulate a strong understanding of the how the project goals align with business objectives and be an excellent communicator. They will often work cross-functionally.
