Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Program Manager will oversee all business intelligence development activities for assigned projects. Responsibilities include driving architectural strategies for BI efforts, ensuring their application to solutions, and potentially acting as Technical Lead on BI-centric projects. Additionally, participation in development, architecture, and design is required. Expertise in the Microsoft BI stack, including SSIS, SQL Server, SSAS, SSRS, PerformancePoint, Excel Services, SharePoint, and Power BI, is essential, with the possibility of working with various tools depending on project requirements and team resources. The IT Program Manager must possess advanced data warehousing and BI architecture skills, encompassing the ETL process, dimensional modeling, OLAP, and dashboards. Responsibilities span architecting, designing, and planning business intelligence solutions, configuring BI services, aggregating data from multiple sources into data warehouses, deploying reports and enhancements, and providing solutions. Candidates should thrive in collaborative environments, possess strong client interfacing and communication skills, and be capable of working both independently and within teams. This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Translates business requirements into comprehensive end-to-end business intelligence solutions. 
  • Designs all BI solutions for designated projects. 
  • Ensures creation of all necessary solution documentation. 
  • Attains and sustains relevant technical proficiencies and promotes a culture of continuous learning among colleagues in both established and emerging technologies. 
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and provides clear updates on progress to the project team. 
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary. 
  • Demonstrates strong business insight and consistently exhibits forward thinking. 
  • Capably navigates situations with ambiguous or incomplete information. 
  • Possesses a solid understanding of architectural frameworks and adheres to best practices. 
  • Demonstrates a robust understanding of technical infrastructure, protocols, and networks. 
  • Holds experience with various hardware and software environments, adapting well to diverse systems. 
  • Exhibits deep familiarity with multiple platforms, operating systems, and database technologies. 
  • Exhibits excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Works proficiently with minimal supervision. 
  • Manages multiple priorities effectively and efficiently. 
  • Maintains composure in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines. 

Position Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required. A high school diploma, GED, and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.  
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience with relational and multidimensional database design and implementation, strong T-SQL, and knowledge of MDX.  
  • Proficient in Power BI.  
  • Experience with reporting systems and data warehouse requirements gathering, analyzing, and designing ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).  
  • Expert knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence design principles.  
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools, including the Microsoft BI Stack: SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.  
  • Experience delivering OLAP data to end users through Excel or other analytics products. 
  • Knowledge of Trimble PMIS Systems · Knowledge of UII System 

Additional Requirements
 
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
 
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
