IT Operations Manager

About the role:

This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and sustained support of our internal systems. You will provide creative solutions to resolve business problems via customer requirements based on system capability and process gaps. This role will also create strategic roadmaps and manage the IT Operations budget.

How you will add value:

  • Manage the daily operations of the IT Helpdesk including IT service management processes, continuous improvement and staff coaching, training and development
  • Ensure the network, physical and virtual IT infrastructure, systems and services are implemented, administered, maintained and upgraded to meet the requirements of the business
  • Build vendor relationships and undertake procurement activities to ensure appropriate technology services and support agreements are in place and equipment is delivered when required
  • Maintain IT asset registers, technical and system documentation, processes and procedures, as well as plans and drawings of locations of all equipment, switches and cabling
  • Work with the CTO to maintain and continually improve the IT Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure it is effective and meets business needs
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, liaising with stakeholders as needed and providing technical advice training and assistance to staff.
  • Be the escalation point for incidents and critical outages to ensure appropriate information is communicated
  • Manage technology changes, evaluating, recommending and implementing new technologies and associated interfaces and procedures to support the business strategy
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors
  • Create strategic roadmaps for technical direction and improvements
  • Provide assistance and senior subject matter expertise for complex business and technical issues for BAU, change and project implementation
  • Ensuring agreed projects and initiatives are delivered on time within budget and scope
  • Maintain and create appropriate configuration documentation for all components
  • Implement security tools and practices across servers and applications/services

About you:

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT, preferably within a fast-growth IT&T, Professional Services or Media organisation
  • 3+ years experience managing an IT Operations team (minimum of 3 direct reports preferred)
  • Experience in Windows desktop & server administration, Mac OS administration 
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Excellent understanding of networking, switches, routers,  wireless, QoS and VoIP (Cisco Meraki)
  • Hands-on experience implementing ITIL and ITSM best practices
