IT Network Engineer

Do you have any practical experience of designing and building medium-sized IT infrastructure environments?

Are you able to work with the business to understand their requirements and select/build solutions that will deliver according to their requirements?

Are you able to move quickly and adjust your solution on the fly as needed?

We are looking for senior and mid-level engineers, who feel comfortable with the concept of Zero Trust Networks, Cloud (Azure, AWS), and are specialised in Network Management.

As part of the Project Team (Group Service Centre (GSC) – National Service Centre (NSC) IT Infrastructure) you’ll be responsible for defining, designing and implementing Network Components of virtual Security Zones, or actual Eurofins locations.

Your hands-on experience in both BUILD and RUN of networks is what we’re after.

You’ll be working with other, highly qualified Application/Storage/Compute/Cloud Engineers, in a small, cross-functional, specific deliverables-oriented team.

A big advantage of the role is that you’ll use your expertise, and work  in such a setup that you’ll have an end-to-end understanding and influence over what is being built.

The GSC – NSC IT Infrastructure team supports the Group Service Centres and National Service Centres within Eurofins.

This covers approx. 4,000 end users and more than 60 sites across the world. We are building the infrastructure for this but also the support team which is required to support the services within the GSN and NSC scope.

Responsibilities:

As part of the GSC – NSC IT Infrastructure team, you will support and execute strategic and transformational initiatives such as the segregation execution program, implementation, and designing of different segregated zones (IT User Zones) and supporting and designing the segregation of different in-scope solutions (IT Application Availability Groups).

Main activities include:

  • Implementing and managing state-of-the-art infrastructure networking solutions for highly available applications using the latest innovation (private, public, and hybrid cloud).
  • Managing provided networking services (e.g., WAN, LAN, WIFI, Load balancers, VPN).
  • Acting as a networking specialist for in-scope IT services.
  • Identifying opportunities to innovate, extend, and enhance service delivery and delivering quality documentation (procedures, policies, and low-level designs).
  • Improving existing processes through sustainable solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions by automation.
  • Cooperating closely with C&S and Security teams to ensure appropriate alignment and governance and ensuring that services comply with set policies and standards and meet agreed SLAs.

Specific Assignments:

Design and create newly defined segregated Infra zones within Eurofins, work together with the solutions teams on solutions designs for different Application Availability Groups (AAGs), and support the application migration activities into the new zones.

Requirements:

An ideal candidate should have strong 5+ years of experience in all of the below:

  • Strong experience in Fortinet products: FortiGate, Forti Manager (templates), FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAnalyzer.
  • Experience in network infrastructure design and transitions.
  • Network components maintenance experience (upgrades, etc.), firewalls (Fortigate, Checkpoint).
  • Data center network experience.
  • Cisco-based routing and switching (CCNA level),
  • Knowledge of protocols: IP, SNMP, SMTP, OSPF, VLAN, ACLs, static routing, SDWAN, switch stacking.
  • Experience of complex network migrations, wireless experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and create technical documentation of delivered solutions.
  • Collaborating as part of a team.

Education required:

B.Sc. or comparable education in Information Technology or Information Security.

Languages

As you will be working in an international environment, you should have strong  English and French skills (oral and written).

Below skills will be an advantage:

CCNP level, ideally a proven track record of LAN/WAN/SDWAN network infrastructure design and implementation during acquisitions, transitions, and delivery on an enterprise level, experience with protocols like DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP, BGP, Velocloud product knowledge will be an advantage, VOIP, QoS, network monitoring, load balancing, VPN (ideally Pulse Secure), data center network experience, experience in complex network migrations, cloud networking (Azure & AWS).
