Support, maintain & configure high available IT Network, Datacentres, Server and Storage environment, by using standard Monitoring tools to problem solve and improve system performance and reliability of the IT Infrastructure, which enables and drives business continuity, data integrity, data security and operational visibility for business flexibility and responsive decision making.
Geographical scope - UK Tire organisations (Continental Tyre Group Ltd, Bandvulc Tyres Ltd, R&J Strang Tyre Services Ltd). This includes Plant, Data Centre, Sales offices, Distribution Centres / Warehouses, and remote staff.
End user support for roughly 600 staff across the 3 businesses.
Datacentres Health (Power, Fire Suppression, Environmental Monitoring, etc..)
* Daily, weekly, monthly datacentre health checks
* Monitor, Maintain and act on datacentre health alerting to ensure high availability of datacentre infrastructure
* Implement and maintain Conti standards for Datacentres
* Maintain periodic Services, Certification and Maintenance & health system checks
* Maintain documentation and reporting related to Datacentre health.
Hardware: Physical & Virtual Servers and Storage (Admin DC & Plant DC)
* Install, configure, Implement, and maintain Physical Server environment
* Install, configure, implement, and maintain Storage environment
* Maintain and monitor Performance and Health of server and storage environment
* Maintain hardware patches, firmware levels, alerts and firmware rollouts
* Implement and adhere to Conti standards for infrastructure
* Co-ordinate with service providers on upgrades, replacements, care packs, RMA's. SLA's, maintenance and warranty repairs
* Maintain server and storage documentation
* Monitor, Troubleshoot and escalate issues for Server and Storage Health to Central Infrastructure Team or Service Provider
Backup and Recovery Systems, Veeam (Admin & Plant Systems)
* Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly server and data backups to disk and tape storage
* Maintain and monitor Performance and Health of backup environment
* Implement and adhere to Conti standards for backup and restore infrastructure
* Maintain backup and restore documentation
* Action and document monthly restores of backed up servers to test data recovery
* Co-ordinate and document the rotation of backup tapes between onsite safe and offsite service provider
* Cloud based backup & restore management and configuration
Virtual Environment: VM, Sphere, ESXi (Admin & Plant)
* Maintain existing VMware environment
- Maintain VMware templates
- Provide regular reporting on system outages, root causes and performance
- Adhere to agreed SLAs for support of business activities
* Perform scheduled maintenance for all virtual platforms
* Document all testing and productive activities and maintain all documentation in an agreed upon location
* Perform testing of new versions, software products and hardware deployments in design quality environment
* Support migration from Quality to Production environment
* Maintain and monitor Performance, Resources and Health of the virtual environment
* Implement and adhere to Conti standards for Virtual Environments
* Maintain complete Virtual environment documentation
* Co-ordinate with Central Infrastructure team and service providers on ESXi versioning, resource balancing, VM performance, Clustering, VSphere upgrades.
* Co-ordinate & implement, maintain & support VMs for systems & application rollouts
* Research innovative ideas as it relates to the virtual environment
* Cloud based virtual server environment management and configuration
Systems Health Applications
* Install, configure, implement and maintain Systems Health Monitoring Environment for Nagios, Graphana....etc
* Provide & maintain alerting for servers, storage, virtual and Network environment and devices
* Implement and adhere to Conti standards for Systems Health Monitoring
* Maintain Systems Health Monitoring documentation
Server Administration
* Setup and administration of servers (VM), Physical or Cloud based
* Server security critical and non-critical vulnerabilities OS patching
* IT Audit sheets related to Server & Infrastructure
* Co-ordinate with Central IT Security on server related security and vulnerabilities
System Admin (VMWare, Server & Storage, Cloud based system)
* Consult, Advice, Analyse, and Support compliance
* Security Patching and Firmware Updating
* Mitigate close security vulnerabilities
Network Management
* Design, install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) local and remote
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement network security measures, including ACLs, and IDS/IPS.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
* Maintain complete Network environment documentation
IT Security
* Manages IT Security components to reduce risk and ensure high business continuity, in accordance with Continental IT Security policies and procedures for Servers, Databases, WAN, LAN, Firewalls, Internet, Intranet, WLAN
- Identifies Infrastructure audit and risk concerns. Develops and executes steps to mitigate risks
- Maintain, update and test Disaster Recovery processes and procedures for local IT Infrastructure high availability
- Identifies vulnerabilities and validates the robustness of the current defensive security controls.
National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology and IT Infrastructure or Equivalent experience, specialised in Server, storage and Networks
