IT Business Analyst

As an IT Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming business processes and driving technology initiatives that align with strategic goals. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their needs, document requirements, and support the implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions. Your ability to analyze complex business processes, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be key to your success.

Requirements

• Act as a liaison between city departments and IT.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies specific to technology projects in the public sector.
• Support project execution by tracking progress, resolving issues, and ensuring deliverables meet business needs.
• Conduct detailed analysis of business process and identify areas of improvement.
• Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to design and implement technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including workflows and use cases.
• Research and recommend emerging commercial capabilities (e.g., hosted, cloud).
• Assist in the development of test plans and participate in testing activities to validate solutions.
• Leads requirement gathering workshops with senior stakeholders.
• Document business and technical requirements accurately and communicate them effectively.
• Test solutions to validate project objectives and verify implemented solutions meet requirements.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Assist in the development of comprehensive business analysis documentation.
• Provides business analysis guidance and support.

Job Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business analysis.
• PBA or equivalent business analysis certification preferred.
• Experience in business and systems analysis.
• Solid understanding of business process improvement and technology implementation.
• Skilled in researching and recommending emerging commercial technologies.
• Capable of managing projects, ensuring quality work and effective scheduling.
• Strong communication skills to liaise between departments and IT effectively.
• Ability to accurately document and communicate business and technical requirements.
• Experienced in testing and validating solutions to meet project objectives. Experience with process mapping and documentation tools.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals.
• Government Experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Sit at a computer for 8 hours per day
• Keyboarding for 8 hours per day

Job Location and Details

Onsite at client location in Goodyear, AZ

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

Estimated duration: 12 months

Temporary Full-time, benefits eligible
