New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) is a New Zealand government agency with a core purpose: growing companies internationally - bigger, better and faster for the good of New Zealand.

What you will be doing: Te whakamahere

The successful candidate will work with New Zealand teams to originate, support, add value and drive investment deals to completion. This requires a global corporate culture mind-set and the behavioural competencies to be a trusted advisor to American and New Zealanders alike.  

You will continue to develop a network of relevant American investors, deepening relationships with existing contacts and identify new investors, and identify areas of interest of in-market investors and venture capital networks in the US. You will play a key role in evaluating New Zealand’s strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities applicable to American investors in an international context and use this insight to shape investment models and opportunities.  

You will work with the Investment Director to build a specific country strategy, developing a pipeline of investment opportunities, and converting these leads into successful investment outcomes that attract foreign direct investment to New Zealand.

What you will need to be successful: Ō Pūkenga 

We are looking for talented, commercially driven people who are collaborative, customer-centric and results focused.

For this role, we are looking for an experienced Investment Manager to take deals to the American market, promote New Zealand as an investment destination, and advise American investors on opportunities that New Zealand can offer, through identifying and providing strategic introductions and market analysis and research.  You will have a depth of knowledge about financial markets and the American investment landscape and have the networking skills to develop trusted advisor relationships.  

We’re a small team so you’ll need to thrive on variety, be willing to support your team members when needed, and have a natural alignment to the NZTE organizational culture.
CFA or CPA is a preference not a requirement for this role. A qualification in finance or related discipline is essential along with experience in investor relations and investor capital.

Indicative salary range for this role is between approximately $162,000 - $216,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience (inclusive of a metallic platinum medical insurance plan, including dental and vision coverage).
