The Investment Manager will be responsible for VC investments and portfolio. The role involves working closely with senior team members to implement investment strategies, identify potential investments, and monitor the performance of the portfolio. The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing and providing strategic guidance to an assigned portfolio of companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, excellent social skills, and experience in managing a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the senior members of the team in implementing the firm's investment strategy.
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities and relevant industry trends to determine the suitability of investments.
- Conduct sector and technology mapping and develop areas of focus.
- Lead the valuation and structuring exercise.
- Lead the commercial and financial due diligence process and investment documentation including negotiation of commercial and legal terms for both new and follow‐on investments.
- Contribute to the drafting of definitive agreements, working closely with lawyers and other stakeholders to drive the execution of the transaction.
- Actively manage assigned portfolio of investee companies while providing strategic guidance, identifying key resources and connections, and providing hands-on support where needed.
- Work with portfolio companies to develop and refine their business plans, financial models, and investor materials.
- Identify and leverage key resources and connections to support portfolio companies, including potential customers, partners, advisors, and investors.
- Provide operational support to portfolio companies where needed, including help with company follow on fundraising or strategic partnership development by producing investor presentations, drafting business plans and strategic plans.
- Develop reports on portfolio health, evaluate investee company performance, and propose exit strategies.
- Serve as the board observer to add value to portfolio companies.
- Preparation of investment memorandum and presentations for the investment committee
- Development of investment thesis on each transaction, social media blogs, and press releases.
- Writing thought leadership, articles, and social media post
- Work with other functions towards a unified organizational goal.
- Ensure collaboration and teamwork culture is maintained to enhance collective ownership of investments and activities.
- Support the senior members of the team in administrative tasks in ad hoc basis.
- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other VC firms to remain up to date on industry developments and regulatory changes that may impact venture capital investments.
- Active participation in public events as speaker, panelist or as judges to enhance the company’s brand and attract opportunities.
- Provide support and mentor the junior staff of the venture capital department to assure continuous learning and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field
- Relevant experience in startup is an advantage.

Working Conditions:
The Venture Capital Investment Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. The job may require occasional travel to meet with entrepreneurs or attend industry events.
