Primary responsibilities include:
The Investigative Lead, Training Pathway Development is a key role within Intuitive, reporting to the VP, Global Customer Training. In this role, you conduct discovery to develop specialty specific recommendations for Technology Training Pathways (TTP’s). You will liase with Customer Learning and Development, Clinical Affairs, Clinical Development Engineering, Clinical Marketing, Surgical Societies and Key Opinion Leaders across the globe to better understand learning needs and define key learning objectives for new clinical applications.
Responsibilities
- Determine and document core principles and “standard of care” for new procedures as well as regionalized nuances for surgical approaches by
- Attending Surgical Congresses
- Observing laparoscopic and open procedures
- Observing existing training programs run by societies or third parties
- Conduct discovery to recommend specialty-specific training, including required and recommended learner activities that help drive the safe and effective use of Intuitive’s technology through technology training and clinical peer-to-peer learning
- Conduct high-level task analysis and define key learning objectives for the specialty; partner with Clinical Development Engineering to identify key techniques for validation by Intuitive
- Define learner roles that will go through the specialty-specific Intuitive TTP; for each role, drive learning curve definition and key metrics to be attained from the Intuitive TTP in alignment with Customer Learning and Development
- Collaborate with Customer Learning and Development to define learning objectives and ecosystem requirements (system, I&A, digital, 3rd party capabilities) for each offering associated with the new specialty-specific TTP
- Conduct meetings with Key Society Leaders to gain their perspective and align on training pathways
- Partner with PEPS Manufacturing team to develop tissue model requirements to support the defined TTP
- Partner with digital and education teams to scope simulation model needs
- Scope training center and equipment requirements for training
- Collaborate with 3rd Party Manufacturers to determine access requirements/barriers for any products needed to support the training pathway
- Scope specific training needs related to supporting Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) studies, as required
Core Competencies, Skills and Experience RequirementS
- Minimum 8+ years designing and implementing training programs
- Direct medical-device experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience working effectively with clinical societies on learning development globally
- Proven experience designing training on complex technology and surgical approaches
- Proven ability to influence and partner with diverse multi-functional teams in multiple geographies
- Expertise in adult learning principles and their application
- Experience working with surgical societies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Proven ability to operate independently
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
- Ability to travel up to 60%
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Advanced degree in Clinical/Health Sciences or Education preferred

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
