As Scientific Coordinator within our Product Compliance Intern team, you will gain a deeper insight into the regulatory requirements of the customers we are serving. In addition, you could also choose to actively partake in our scientific project related to chemical and health risk assessment within the Label and Graphic Materials portfolio.

Your main tasks will be the following:

  • Support daily customer compliance questions
  • Assist with the creation of compliance reports (Food Contact Statements, General compliance statements, etc.)
  • Maintain databases & documentation with key regulatory information related to product specifications and safety for internal and external stakeholders per business priority
  • Communicate with the internal and external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers and customers) to understand the needs and provide support

We would be looking for candidates seeking experience- and/or project-based internship. For project-based internships, this position can be tailored to support our scientific assessment. In this case, we would be interested in candidates who have experiences in assessing mutagenicity risk of extractables, degradation products, and impurities according to ICHM7, including SAR/(Q)SAR evaluation both rule-based vs statistical-based. The objective is to recommend approaches on permissible daily exposure of chemicals.

The preferred start date is January 15th, 2024 or earlier. The ideal candidate is available 4-5 days a week for 6 months and more. The location of the position is our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest. The internship can be done hybrid with prior arrangement.

What kind of candidate are we looking for? 

  • Someone currently following a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology (toxicology), Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, and Food Science in a Dutch university
  • Someone with good communication skills in English and able to work in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Someone who is a quick learner and a creative problem solver
  • Someone who can work in diverse teams and is not afraid to ask questions
